Do shake & bake containers for PC have a wear out point ? And does the bb color matter in that?
Was doing some PC'ing today, and suddenly my bullets stopped accepting the PC.
I had used this container & BB's for about 2,500-3,000 bullets. When the bullets just stopped accepting the PC. No matter how hard I shook, which way I went. Clockwise or counter-Clockwise it would only coat about half way. There was plenty of powder, I had just added 1/2 teaspoon. The container is a #5 Zip lock that is 5"X5"X1.5". I usually do about 100 38's or 60-70 44-45's.
The powder was Eastwood Squirrel Gray, the BB's the same green ones I started with.
I use the same containers & BB's for SMOKE4320; Flame Red & Carolina Blue. Not a problem. But then I haven't done any more then 500 of each yet. I use a smaller container with Smoke4320's JD Green. And black BB's, can't find Black BB's anywhere around here. And walmart won't/can't sell them in "My Area".
Switched to a new #5 Zip lock Container that is 5"X5"X2". Covered the bottom with the rest of the Black BB's I got from Smoke, a half teaspoon of Powder and the half covered 38's that I picked out of the "dead" container.
Covered the bullets Beautifully in about 30seconds. The I did about 70 odd .45's. That worked perfectly too.
So have I answered my own question ?
There is a limited life to the shake&bake containers ?
