I fired my first 45-70 hand loads this morning. 315gr Lee WFP, 315 NOE FP and some 405gr Lee hollow base. These were fired out of a 22" Handi barrel that I picked up for load development. All went well using trapdoor type loads. IMR 3031, Rl 7 and H-4198. the 4198 burned by far the cleanest of the three with these lite loads. I'm still working up to firing the new case hardened Henry that the kids bought for me. I've never had a rifle as pretty as this one.  I'll get to it as soon as I fire a few more tests with the Handi. and build a little confidence.  LOL  Gp

How about a picture of that new Henry?

If someone else had of done to me what I did to myself . . . I'd have killed him. Humility is an asset. Heh - heh.
