Yes, it is a poorly fit rotor to the base of the measure. No, I don't have an answer other than to sell it on evilbay and buy another. If it is close, you can coat it with Midway mould release and build up the diameter of rotor to last until you remove it. This is where powder coating would be a real factor.

Nope.

But then mine was bought when they very first came out. Bought all 26 rotors within the 1st year.

Got the #0 & #00 a few years back, but haven't used them yet.

Call RCBS and talk to them, They are all right & up & running.

gpidaho tells us that powder coating builds up at ~0.001 per coating ... how about a coat or two of baked on powder coat ?? ? then roll the rotor in some moly to decrease galling ?

if a powder coated bullet can get unharmed out of a long barrel, maybe it could last for a while twisting in a molyed housing.

can you mix the moly into the powder before curing it ?

I've got the Bailey Boat adjustable rotor about a year ago. It works well with BE.

Bullseye powder always seems to work itself into the sliding surfaces of the rotor, binding it up after charging 25-30 cases. The only fix seems to be removal of the rotor and cleaning. Powdered graphite doesn't help much. Anybody else have this problem?

DON'T HAVE THIS PROBLEM WITH MINE.

My experience is the same as Ed's so far. I've used mine for Bullseye, 231, 4756, Tite Group and Unique. I'm guessing I've had my unit for only 2-3 years. So far only have 5 rotors. Might get a few more.

I've found that the older Omark rotors are better than newer production. They have a smoother finish and seem blued like gun steel. They also don't get surface rust in humid environments like the new production ones. I had bought 5 new production rotors to fill the gaps in my set of older Omark ones. I stacked them in my custom wood rack for Lil' Dandy rotors and all five new production started getting surface rust during our humid summer. They also have a cheap blackened finish that wears off quickly in use. I ended up finding a complete never used older Omark production set in the sealed individual factory boxes for half of what current rotors are priced at.

As a side note, if I let the rotors sit out on the loading bench too long, they get small spots of rust on them. I store them in my gun vault that has dehumidifying rod in it, along all of my molds (and guns). Doing that eliminates the propensity to rust.

38splpete: I'm guessing a coat or two of powder coat would last as long as you're apt to need the rotor. I have on hand some Eastwood mirror black powder that is the slickest coating I've seen. My bet is that that would take care of the problem. Shouldn't cost much to have a local shop coat it for you or I'd be happy to coat it for you for free. Only problem would be that the postage both ways is likely prohibitive. I've been thinking of getting a Little Dandy and will look into the adjustable rotor. If any of you have an extra or unused L.D. at a good price PM me. thanks. Gp

I had problems with surface rusting of my rotors until I cleaned them with 000 steel wool and acetone, then warmed them with a hair drier, applying a film of Johnson's paste wax, and then coating with graphite.
