Hi all,

Just joined and wanted to say hello.

Yes, yes NYC. I know.

So I’m a newbie here. I’ve been shooting for about 5 yrs now and have a small, varied collection of fun rifles, including 3 muzzleloaders, one under construction, and an antique British ‘Rook’ rifle that I still plan to produce BP loads for. All part of the fun.

Hi,

I’ll try to get some pix out tomorrow. Taking it easy after the 1st covid vaccine shot.

Where in NZ? Did a trip of a lifetime there about 5 years ago, mostly south island in a camper van but spent some time in Auckland.

Want to go back!

Welcome aboard Gilly, even if you are from NYC.  We don't care where  you are from as long as you like lead.

Hi, Rook rifle pics. Sorry for the delay. Don't have a lot of info. Made in the late 19th century by W.B. Barrat, Burton On Trent, England. Chambered in .360 #5 Rook for black powder. 357 Magnum brass is almost a perfect fit except it's .250 too long. Beautiful wood, beautiful engraving. Bore is rather pitted but no obvious signs of rust. Rifling is in good condition, doesn't look like it was shot very much. It's a very light, rather petite rifle.

Welcome aboard. Nice rifle. I'm addicted to single shot tip up rifles. I'll trade a one eyed dog and two settings of eggs for it. Do you have other rifles of this type.? If you do please post more pics.

Hi David, well cutting back on eggs for cholesterol but the dog sounds interesting. Don’t have any more of this specific type. Have a couple other single shots, Ruger 22 hornet and Shiloh Sharps 40-70. So many rifles to buy, so little time (and money).
