This rig sizes nose or body of the bullet, instructions and pictures are on the NOE site.

I wanted to size 22 noses, so ordered .219” and .220” bushings.

The bushing hole has a sharp edge, no taper. A Dremel tapered stone, turned by hand, just a little, chamfered the edge away.

The rig works fine.

I think the die body would be better if threaded all the way, this would allow adjusting the amount of nose size.

I made an adjustable stop, and that works on the Huntingdon Compact Press.

Sized noses allow seating further out. Maybe accuracy is lurking out there.

Thanks, NOE. joe b.

Joe B. I've also purchased the NOE push through size die set up and like you, I beveled the sharp edge of the nose bushings. I may have been a little optimistic as to how much sizing could be done in one step, but I think that the set screw system of holding the bushing in the die body could be improved, I bought .300, .301 and .302 bushings for 30cal. and lube the bullet noses with imperial die wax but have had trouble with the set screw biting into the aluminum bushing when tapping the bullet back out. Are you lubing the noses when sizing and if so, what's working for you? Any other tips on use would be appreciated. Thanks Gp

Thanks GpI seat gas checks-don't size the bullet, put on the minimum LLA + odorless paint thinner/mineral spirits, let them kinda dry, size the nose and push them out of the die with my hand and enormous strength/weight. They click twice and fall out. Are the bushings aluminum? Where's my magnet? I keep the pusher thing clean, no LLA, and from the look of the sized bands, they're pretty well centered. If I ever get done with 22cf, I'll get some .30 bushings. That's all I know. joe b.

After a so-so start for me using the NOE nose sizing bushings, I'm warming up to this handy tool. On my first attempts I was simply expecting too much of the tool. I've found that if you don't overpower the bushing by trying to step down .002-.003 at a time and instead go in .001 steps the system works very well. As Joe pointed out, it would be handy if the die body were all-thread for height adjustment. On my Handi rifles it is very easy to work out the perfect slide fit using one of my powder coated bullets with the extra girth provided by the coating and sizing down in steps until the nose of a bore rider will seat with a light push. All this takes a little time and effort and I haven't tested yet for how much if any improvement is made on target but for those of us that enjoy tinkering at the loading bench it's an interesting and effective tool for adjusting the bullet nose to that just right fit. Very nice Mr. Dupraz. It very well may be my alloy that's a bit harder than yours giving me early problems. I've worked through some of the issues and I'm impressed with the tool. What if anything are you lubing the bullet noses with as you size? Gp

STP

It's the only lube I use anymore for sizing, case forming, etc.

NOE really needs to bevel and polish the edges around the entry of their nose bushings. Similar to the bottom of a FL sizing die, only smoother.
