Since I (in a week moment) have acquired a 9.3X57mm on a Mauser 98 action, and I personally know little about this cartridge, could some of you fine folks please share your knowledge of this round?  I have not bought a mould yet nor dies.  I am leaning toward the Hornady dies as I like their seating die and the taper on their de-capping rod it is not so blunt and because I may end up necking up 8x57 brass I feel that Hornady's arrangement would be easier on the necks than the RCBS.  Besides that the Hornady die is cheaper. Thanks for anything in advance. Brodie

Have a look at that page: http://www.loaddata.com/home/index.cfm?

A search for 9.3x57 showed a few articles. The first one, “(50) loads", is the one I remembered from Handloader Issue #283 - April/May 2013.

Ken Waters apparently wrote a “Pet Loads” article (with questioned loads?): http:/s.gunboards.com/showthread.php?645-Handloading-the-9-3x57. I should be able to have a look at the book later this month.

Norma has published data: http://www.norma.cc/en/Ammunition-Academy/Loading-Data/93x57/

I see Simpsons LTD sells these built on Mauser actions (Huskavarna) at a very reasonable price. I've been wanting a 35cal. bolt rifle. Might be an option. Gp

I wrote an article about the 9.3X57 for TFS several years back.  It is a great cast bullet rifle.  I have sold mine along with the brass and dies.  I kept the molds because I replaced it with a 9.3X74.  Unfortunately my old computer largely died and that file did not get transferred to my new MAC 3 years ago.  I know the article is out on my backup hard drive but unless I have my son over, it may as well be on the moon.  I will definitely try to find it. I don't know if Glenn can do a search in TFS archives?  He is pretty well organized.  does anyone know?? Feel free to PM or email at [email protected] while I am looking.  I'll give you any help I can. Don't buy brass as you can reform from 8X57 effortlessly. Jim

Ric, Simpson Ltd is where I found this rifle. The one I have purchased is on a 98 Mauser action. The rest i believe are on 96 actions. This one has had the stock shortened a bit, but I can fix that, and there is a funny looking cheek piece that seems to have been added to accommodate a rather tall scope mount. I picked the one with the 98 action thinking that if I ever wanted to I could rechamber to 9.3x62 if I wanted to.

Brodie Take a look at TFS Journal No. 207.  You'll find a 3 page article with enough info to get you started.  Enjoy the rifle. Let me know if you don't have this copy of TFS. Jim
