My best groups to date have been shot in calm, misty and overcast conditions. Wind has way more effect.

Best scope groups are overcast gray skies (try to find those in the desert!) but iron are lightly over cast cloud cover with no sun breaks. FWIW, Ric

I have squirrel hunting scheduled for Sunday and snow is forecast. My sights are at 50 yards and I shoot farther but I don't change my sights for snow and cold. I shoot a 90 gr SWC cast bullet 1120 fps from a 7.62X39 single shot.
I believe heavier bullets with heavier loads are even less sensitive to weather than my slow 90 grainer at 100 yards.
Personally, the worst POI change from weather extremes I have seen was from 110 gr JHPs in a .308 Win. with factory level loads.

One of the most facinating turkey shoots I ever attended was held in PA on the weekend before primitive flintlock deer season was to open. It rained. And rained. And Rained.
QUICKLY sorted out the mountain men from the Pilgrims!
All flinters. No “atomic” frizzens permitted.
Load under cover was OK, but then you had to walk IN THE RAIN wearing your capote, 300 yards through the rain to the firing position.
IF your rifle went off and you hit the 6” gong at 50 yards you were in the running. Flash in the pan and you are out.
The winners were the three Hart brothers of Nescopeck!
Using guns they had built themselves with hand rifled barrels too.
The Hart boys were really into mountain man stuff then after the movie Jeremiah Johnson came out.
