Suggestion for new topic or STICKY on the forum

With all the new shooters who have gotten into the shooting sports within the last few years, it seems like a lot of them don't know what type of accuracy is really possible with cast bullet loads. I think it would be helpful for them to see some targets posted from winning CBA matches, as well as the loading data for those winning loads. This data is generally available to CBA members in the Fouling Shot, but not elsewhere.   I think it we be beneficial to everyone concerned to have these winning targets and load data posted in a conspicuous spot somewhere on this forum, so all the world could see it. I think this would help the new shooters, as well as giving the CBA members a chance to show what good groups really look like. This could also bring a lot of potential new members to this forum.   What do you guys think?   Dave

Not necessary for a new topic. Just go to the CBA Home page, click on “match results” and have access to current and past matches and data of the competitors. There are even results for the military matches.

Have a look. http://www.castbulletassoc.org/br/2015/pdf/arizonacb/arizonacb02152015.pdf

It would be a really good idea for forum members to at least look at the rest of the site and see what is available, courtesy of the CBA members

Duane,

That link has the data, but it doesn't show any of the targets. Over on the “other” forum, there are a lot of FNGs who manage to throw a load together, and then have two or more holes that happen to land in the same ZIP Code. After that, they think they're ready to take on the world. It would be nice to have a PICTURE to show them what an actual group looks like. IMO

I think I will let one of the match directors address your concerns.

If this forum and the match directors aren't interested in including Photos along with the Match Scores and Data for the general public to see, are there any individual members who would be willing to send me your Photos? I would prefer photos of targets at both 100 yards, and 200 yards, if possible. Professionally done photos wouldn't be necessary; simple cell phone pix would be fine. Just send them to me as an attachment to a PM or an email. For any photos that I might use for reference somewhere else, I would also give you full credit for your accomplishments.

Thanks,

Dave

Greetings, Dave, The attached photo is from an original Springfield Model 1873 Trapdoor 45-70 Government, although I did have the barrel re-lined.  I have a completely original Model 1884 that shoots almost as well, its best group is about an inch larger. The data is on the photo.  If you want more info, please email me in a private email through the forum. Tk

Maybe the pictures of winning groups can be put in The Fouling Shot magazine.
