Oversize bore diameter for Ruger No. 1 represented as 32-40

I acquired a Ruger No. 1, action no. 26 of 100 for ASSRA.  The barrel is unmarked, #3 contour, 8-groove; it was sold to me as a 32-40.  However, a bore slug measures .3233-.3276, and the pound cast throat is .3276-.3397.  The ASSRA folks have not offered many opinions; I do not have cerrosafe yet to take a chamber cast.  I'm beginning to wonder if this was chambered in 8.15x46r.  Any ideas or theories?   It is a gorgeous rifle, not done by some schlub.  Monday I'm going to get me to a local 'smith for a chamber cast!

The chamber cast is the right approach; then you will know the dimensions. If necessary, you can order a custom mold and shoot a bullet tailored to the bore and throat.

Do a chamber cast but I wonder if you don't have a 33-47 which was a favorite way of fixing a shot out 32-40. It's just a 32-40 case on a 33 caliber barrel no other change made and was considered a very accurate cartridge maybe more so than the 32-40 one of Harry Pope's favorites.
