Egg on face again! The above was actually my second group with this powder charge. The first was just barely 1” for ten, hence the second try.

Time will tell. Cast some more today and am waiting to try again after they age a bit. Had a good day at the range anyway.

Great group.  How about a picture of that bullet and loaded round.  I don't see it, or at least by that number on NOE's website. John

Wow!!!   Very impressive!!!

I bought one of those 311322s in the group buy, but haven't cast anything with it yet. Really glad I got one.

In the military matches, this old girl can hang with most of my competitors at 100 yds. with the RCBS 165-S. And because it has a 13” twist the RCBS is the only bullet that will shoot consistently well. There aren't a lot of choices for the short necked  7.62/.308. But the 165 is lacking at 200 when shooting in any breeze and against all the springfields and 200+ grn. 299's.   Iv'e always wanted to try a pointed cast bullet anyway and the stability calculator shows the NOE 311334 as working in the 13 twist. There is a considerable increase in ballistic coefficient, length and weight over the RCBS 165 and if it shoots well, think it should be better than the 165, especially at 200.    Only two good groups don't get it unless they are repeatable including out to 200. But I am encouraged so far as these first two ten shotters were fired on different days, wind conditions and temp. I have been disappointed more than once before in this crazy game so remaining cautiously optimistic.

not to jinx your future groups, but in addition to a good rifle, scope and bullets ... to shoot 20 shots into ( almost ) a quarter with a mauser rig .. takes a decent trigger puller.

if it was me, i would probably retire from shooting and get a t-shirt made with those 20 shots front y back.

i am inspired.

Well Ken, don't know about that, except for the retiring part. That has been considered a couple of times in the past. Let's just say I had a couple of good days at the range for now.       Going to give them a go again in a couple of days. Out to 200. Have another military match coming up on Sat. If all goes well, think I'll throw caution to the wind and see just what that old Israelie  will do with the 311332  for 40 shots. After all what's there to lose? I've been humiliated before.      Just thought that there may be some that would be interested in one example of how this pointy bullet seems to work.

I lucked up and purchased a new Lyman 311332 mould that has a near perfect round .301 bore ride section (linotype). This should shoot really good in my six grove barrels

Rich,   Do you have any more updates on how this design has worked out for you, like with 40 shot groups, etc.?   Thanks,   Dave

Dave: The following week, I used the bullet in a registered military match. The two 100 yd target scores were in the high 90's, 97 & 98, I believe. The two 200 yd. targets went 94,95. I used it again at the Hawkeye Rifle and Pistol club military match and as I recall, my score were similar. These were both 40 shot matches, obviously. And I wasn't real pleased with my performance at either.       So I went back to loading the RCBS-165-Sil. And then used a 1903 and 314299 instead of the K-98 Mauser. I had intentions of working with the NOE more this summer but just never got around to it. Those first two ten shotters were really crazy but I think there is something there anyway.   Pushing 70yrs pretty hard and have finally come to the realization this summer that my two biggest problems anymore are consistant bench technique and reading conditions, in that order. Maybe, if I get motivated and the weather holds here, I'll try that NOE again before the snow flies.
