Why can't I clip a thread/article from this site to OneNote?

When I first joined this site I could select part of a thread and clip it by "share" to Evernote or OneNote. I mostly used Evernote. They have got too expensive so now I use OneNote exclusively. Only problem is this site now returns the error "No Internet, Check your connection ". Yes I'm connected. Yes there are one or two other Forums that do this also but none I frequent as much as this one. Why is it important? I clip info of interest to me so I can easily search and find it again and in some cases to ensure access and a record if the site in question disappears. OneNote also has offline access which is brilliant where I have my phone but no internet.

I'm guessing it is something to do with the platform that hosts this site, or the software that is used. But why? Surely it is not a deliberate block? I have not checked but I'm also guessing the other sites with the same issue use the same software or hosting. Any of you clever persons have a solution?

Are you using a Windows version?

If so you could copy the info you wish to share, paste it into a wordpad or notepad window, then give the file a name & save it for later.

Another option depending on what browser you are using, is to take a "screenshot" and save it as a file with its' own name for future reference.

Those are just a couple ways I do it, anyway.

G'Luck~!

Not sure I understand the question. I just highlighted (selected) the entire previous two posts with the title, and copied it into “notes” on an iPhone. The forum server can’t prevent copying text and even if it could, a screen shot will certainly copy anything presented.

And yes, I am aware of various preventative methods that exist, however, those do not exist on our server/forum application.

I would think OneNote is similar to Notes in that respect. Interesting issue if I understand it correctly.

Sorry guys, I appreciate the well-meaning but with respect I think my point is being missed. I use a particular app. It happens I use it on an Android phone, a Samsung Note 9. For 99 out of 100 websites it works perfectly fine. Not on this one or a couple of similar ones. Why? I wonder

Yes there are work arounds. Clunky ones. I got away from them many years ago first with OneNote then with Evernote when it handled clipping web pages more elegantly, then back to OneNote seeing as I'm paying for Office 365 anyway and Evernote started charging moonbeams. I may shoot old rifles from 100plus years ago but I do like my device tech to be up to date and working as it should. Thanks anyway.
