Greetings.
In recent weeks I have caught up with an old shooting friend who was selling up all his gear due relocation/age/poor health. We were going through his gear when he said "you might be able to use these in your .32-20" pointing at a plastic bottle of Lyman 311316 bullets. I replied "I would think so, that is my handwriting and I gave them to you for YOUR .32-20". We both laughed.
On bringing them back home I noted the label read 2008, air cooled clip on WW, 2% tin, heat treated, 27 BHN. I got to thinking. 13 years on how are they holding up.
Put a bullet over the Lee hardness tester today. 20.5 BHN. Stil lharder than linotype. I was surprised. Thought they would be softer by now.
Cheers from New Zealand
