Thanks David.  Amazing that anybody lists such an archaic item.  However, like everything relating to guns it is out of stock.

I'll bet there are a few of these in the back of old gunsmith shops but how to find them.

hi johna ... i got a 1889 to look at, but haven't shot it yet.  if you have any experience with loads for these, please emote.

or i could trade you my 1889 for something interesting ... maybe an old rusty modern action for a belted magnum cartridge ...then you would have a stock  ( g ) , and i would have another project...

ken

whatever happened to those times when we could trade our $46 nagant pistol and a box of shells for a $66 marlin 39 squirrel rifle ?? ...

My mother moved out of her house of 50 years, and I have the "pleasure" of cleaning it out.

I found a hand written receipt where my father sold a RockOla .30 cal M1 Carbine rifle (sic) plus 100 rounds of ammo for $80.00.

To be more precise, it was October 8, 1965, but you're still correct.

I wonder if things were tight, and he needed some fast cash.  Young kids and all.  Wouldn't be the first time.
