Testing some 40-1 alloy loads in the .303 Pygmy today and rewarded with outstanding accuracy.

Oh, that looks like a fun rifle, what some here might call a kitchen table sporter. The Parker Hale sight, special chambering, and checkering would elevate it above that though. Nice group, is it typical of that rifle?

Urny - A little better than usual but it's a accurate little beast.

Muley - Dummy round.  I fill both grooves with lube.

Hi Jeff, what is the bullet’s diameter on the bore riding portion?

Bore riding nose is .304 inch.  I size the front band to .313 to engage the leade at which the nose is engraving the rifling also.

Jeff, any idea of the velocity you’re getting?  Looks like the GC is ‘bout 3/4 down the neck.  Is there any chance you could shoot a picture of your front sight?  Sure is a fun looking project.  Congratulations.  Bill Cook.

& has the is the dummy round shown in the picture been chambered?

Would you happen to know what the freebore diameter is?  You said it was sized to .313 & that it engaged the leade so I assume it’s a kiss/slip fit in the freebore.  Thanks, Bill.

Yes, dummy has been chambered.  Freebore length is very short.  If I don't size the front band the bullet needs to be seated with the front band just out of the neck.
Yet to clock that load; suspect 13-1400fps.

Hello Jeffin NZ,

Nice job Jeff. In my book, this is what cast bullet shooting should return to. Pure and simple, along with efficiency and lots of fun.
