You’d think in the “information age” finding a particular type would f competition would be easy, but I can’t find a resource.
I’m looking specifically for Hunters Pistol big-bore open sights.
Thanks!

I was curious, so took a look at the NRA website. 11,000 matches and it's really hard to find something that isn't a National Match. I'd suggest you try their email [email protected] to get them to narrow it down since their search function is limited to 200 miles and is very general.

Depends on your location. Here in east central Minnesota, there are two clubs that host handgun silhouette matches. IHMSA calls it Field Pistol and NRA calls it Hunter’s Pistol. Not identical but similar rules, equipment, targets, distances, etc. The clubs in our area do only IHMSA events. Iron sight and scoped sights categories.

It seems as if you are asking about handgun silhouette matches. If correct, the CBA does not offer that type of a match. We did way back when with paper silhouette target targets but those events eventually got dropped.

Yes, I’m looking for handgun, but specifically NRA hunter’s pistol.

What part of the world are you in? Some CBA members may be able to help you zero in on a match.

The contact email for the NRA’s Silhouette and Black Powder Target Rifle Department is:
The department is responsible for all NRA competitive silhouette shooting activities and NRA's black powder target rifle programs. The department manager acts as the Match Director for all NRA National Silhouette Championships.
I found this on the NRA Competition Resources Directory Information web page…

Hope this helps.
