Deteriorating discs and cervical stenosis dictated a full cervical fusion October 1. I'm almost 4 weeks in. no longer have pain and numbness in my arms and hands and am looking forward to getting back on the benchrest. Since I am not the only old guy here was curious about recovery and eventual shooting issues down the road. I will be able to cast as before but am concerned about bench and shooting posture issues. Any advice?

I had back surgery and it was a miracle for me. Follow the recommendations of your physical therapist to the letter.

Same here, in a way. My right leg is going through its second round of sciatica. If I get lazy and don't do the exercises the PT gave me, the pain returns. So I need to get more ficused and committed to doing the exercises.

I was practically bedridden all last year due to issues with my lumbar spine. Sitting up was like sitting on a baseball, so when I had a dental or doctor's appointment my wife drove me there and I laid in the bed of the pickup truck. I had my second back surgery on 8/11/24, and I still get sciatica pains, only now it is in both legs.
Doing my back exercises helps tremendously, but after a year on my back, I am dealing with reduced ability in my back support muscles. It is going to be a longer road back than I really would like.
