Hello to all,

My youngest son who is 45 years old and has been too busy to hunt and enjoy himself for the last 20 years or so , finally decided to start hunting again this year. He was quite successful on the first day of the hunt.

Here is the message he sent with the pictures, to all of his friends and family, of the huge buck that he harvested. I killed this buck with an old Model 141 Remington Game Master in .35 Remington that my dad gave me when I was in High School, I was wearing a pair of camaflouge coveralls that Dad bought me when i was in college ,i was setting in a tree stand that Dad bought me for Christmas close to 20 years ago (never had been taken out of the box until a few weeks ago) I skinned it with a K-Bar knife that Dad bought me when I was in High School. I was shooting handloads with cast bullets that dad had loaded for me when I was either in High School or college. I dug around and found three cast bullet cartridges and went hunting.

I am so glad that his job and other pressures have eased so that he can return to his younger life activities when he, his brother and I used to spend a lot of time together following our love of hunting. i first got started loading cast bullet rifle cartridges so that I could afford to keep he and his brother in ammo.

What better Thanksgiving could a Dad have after reading that message. I am a very happy Dad.

Happy Thanksgiving to all,

Mashburn

Great story David! Most of my fondest hunting memories were of hunting with my Dad. Now I honor his memory by taking his guns hunting as do my brothers and sons.

Wish we could see the picture.

Hello Spindrift,

Thanks for your response and  understanding my families kind of values. We're having a partial family Thanksgiving tomorrow at my oldest son's ranch, and I know he and I will wind up going deer hunting after Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow.

Great Story, to make a Great Memory from.

Long time Caster/Reloader, Getting back into it after almost 10yrs. Life Member NRA 40+yrs, Life S.A.S.S. #375. Does this mean a description of me as a fumble-fingered knuckle-draggin' baboon. I also drool in my sleep. I firmly believe that true happiness is a warm gun. Did I mention how much I HATE auto-correct on this blasted tablet.
