just rcvd. a used mold that i bought off the cast boolit site . never heard of the mfgr. looks CNC made.mold says HM2  , 360-147-3 made in USA  and something that might be greek  MOAQN  AABE. anyone know anything about  this mold maker??

I have never seen that stamp on any mold, but what I think you have in the Greek is:

“ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕ”

This IS Greek for what we westerners write as Malon Labe. This is Greek for "Come and take it"

It was spoken by King Leonidas during the battle of Thermopylae when 300 Spartans stood against over 20000 Persians, according to the legend.

As for the HM2 I don't know that stamp, sorry.

Heavy Metal Molds are out of business, but their molds are excellent. I have several.

And speaking of molds, I think RCBS and Lyman just priced themselves off the market. Last year these were 90ish dollars. Now they are $130! I'll continue to use Accurate Molds and NOE molds.

they probably saw what people are paying for powder and primers and thought hmmm....

imho they are taking advantage of us now and playing a "shortage" game.

"if it was easy we'd let women do it" don't tell my wife I said that!

I'm with Aaron on manufacturer selection. I have two NOE molds that are used in my CBA benchrest matches (2 different guns). And a .38 Special Accurate mold is on its way.

Except that "Tom" hasn't owned Accurate for over a year now. He sold it and quietly retired, there was a bit of a kerfluffle on "boolits" about this. The new owners were hesitant to let people know of the change so they didn't say anything about it.

BTW, the owners name wasn't "Tom" anyway, he just used that name as a point of contact.

I guess the details of the company Accurate are a non factor, as long we keep seeing satisfied new buyers.
