The CMP is right now in the process of having brand new M1 Garands built. Yes the receivers are forged just like the originals and they have the original Springfield plans to built them from. They are going to be correct in every detail.

As least as much as an ‘03 Springfield, that no longer has many parts available.

Yes that is a lot, but how many were destroyed by damage in the war.. Remember too it did two wars and also issued to many foreign countries.  I'm glad that they are doing this.

Just checked the new rule book.  They are allowed along with foreign and commercial manufactured rifles that meet spec.  From a quick look it looks like the carbine rules changed to this new ruling.  I’ll stick with my M1 even though it is a rewelded it is a beauty and shoots better than me.  The option of 7.62x54 looks like a nice option.

$1900, plus I think $40 shipping.  And the 12 rifle limit does not apply to these.

Now if I could get mine to fire lead loads and not lead plate the gas system.

OPPS that is 7.62x51 NATO,  I had been thinking of my Finnish M39 earlier.  It is just as accurate as my '03 and has a strange windage adjustment.  Sorry

They are still importing original M1’s.
