Sitting in the -20 deg. winter.  Thinking of warmer days. Is anybody going to put on a Bunny or Ground hog match this year.

Thanks,

Jon

me too ...  lots of fun for not much work ...

i get a kick out of my incredulous shooter buddies when i tell them what i am doing ...

guys shooting Precision Creedmoors with a 60 power Vortex stove pipe don't compute my grins from shooting cast bullets ( they lead your barrel you know )  at a paper rabbit out of a 1934 Winchester 54 30-06 with a Herters 4 power up top ...  or a 1913 Swede with ... GASP ! ... iron sights on the barrel !! ...

i'm in ...

I’d be up for another flogging.

I think your targets are cruel in the fact that they are pretty camouflaged and hard to see anything and deceptive.

Our rabbits over here are jet black with bright white patches on their vital organs.

If my health doesn't do what it has done the past two years, during the bunjny shoots, I hope I finally get to participate in this one. Count me in for sure. I'm already loading cartridges.

Can I import some of Barra's rabbits to New Hampshire?  Our cottontails are protected and the snowshoes wrote the book on camouflage.

Barra:  Could you send one female that is just a little bit pregnant so we can be sure she arrives solo?

My better Judgment tells me not to do this.

Hear are the rules:

Cast bullets only. Any centerfire caliber. 10 shots on the target.  You will get one sighter target and one match target.

Any sight, 6X scope max.(for the military shooters).

Targets shot at 50 yards from any hunting position.  Not from a bench!

Send me your Name and Address.  I will mail your targets.  I will have to order them so be patient.  I will give you an end date when this all comes together.

When you send me your completed target send a donation to pay for targets and shipping!

Use my email.

Longhunter/Jon,

How long do we have, as in what is the deadline for mailing in the score target? Yes, as you said, when you get this together.

As you know next door in MN, we need a bit of warm up to get this done, ( I am next door in Central WI.

Thank you for volunteering to do the match

That’s like being a little bit married.

Too late when the deed has been done.

Jon,

I know what you are saying…..stepping up to run a match. No organizer/match director…no event!

In my experience, the coyote that was used in a recent forum postal @ 200-yards was the most difficult (for me) due to the contrast or lack of, between the animal and the background, and using my iron sights. If the animal was moving I can see how that would improve but when everything is stationary, it is really difficult.

Thanks fir taking this on, Jon!

I’ll be joining the fun. Sharps Model 74, iron sights, paper patched bullets, 40  2 1/2, black powder.

Ok,

Ill try to answer some questions!

Gas checks are ok. any type of cast bullet is fine.

Rabbits.....We will shoot rabbits....... The ground hogs are still in there holes!  The Targets are ordered.  So when they get here I will start sending them.  Send you address  Please use my email if you cn.

End date for targets, well Ill pull a rabbit out of my hat and say 30 April 2022.

That's a lot of time.

So any other questions??????

I'm an old Army guy so I use the KISS principal....

Thanks guys,

Have fun with this.

I need to add something here.

This is a non sanctioned Match. Meaning the CBA is not involved.  Period.

So you have any problems or Gripes come to me.  I am the one who will fix it for you.
