i have a marlin 1897 (22 lr) that is in very bad shape. i had a bbl liner installed. i want to get it color case hardned and re-blued. but i was wondering if when re-blueing the bbl. if the heat from the blueing bath will perhaps damage the epoxy used in installing the liner???

I would seriously consider slow rust bluing that rifle. 1. It would be period correct and look better than any hot salt job. 2. Boiling water would pose no risk to the integrity of the epoxy.

Hot blue tanks will definately destroy your epoxy. Read up on rust blueing and it will work fine and cost much less, just you have to supply the labor.
