I read all 55 posts on this subject and can't find any evidence that anyone is making bullet taper dies anymore. Did I miss someone?

Just get creative. You can buy blank case sizing dies, ptg makes them. Ream using the same tapered throating reamer you used to throat your rifle.

I've made quite a few of them on my little Sherline lathe before and cut the taper with a boring bar.But the question was "is anyone making them" Not how to make them.

Alstep,
Taper dies are usually cut with reamers because the hole is too small and deep to be using a boring bar. If you use a standard taper pin reamer, which is 1/4" per foot, the angle is around 1.2 °. If you have the throating reamer used to cut your barrel, you can use that.

the 1.2 degrees of taper pin reamers is 1.2 included ... so per side is 0.6, desireable for accuracy if you have a matching throat. that will give you about 1/3 inch of tapered engagement of the rifling ...

Thanks for the clarification Ken, I couldn't find that!

to clarify i made dies to use in rcbs or lyman sizers and flat punches to just taper noses and maybe a front band. I bore it to close to nose diameter first and in my Sherline lathe take many small cuts at about 1.5deg. I'm a crappy impatient machine operator so I takes a few tries usually to get close to what I'm looking for.
