Received another weird mold from NOE the other day. I have 50 cast tapered and coated to try out tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing how it shoot. The bullet weighs 170 grains. Its a little lighter than I'd prefer but Ive had some success with the 230 grain boat tail Lee so thought I'd give it a try.

I'm just going to play it by ear as far as velocity. I'll start at the same measure setting I use for my 180 grain bullets that run around 1580 and see how it does. I'll push it until I get leading or the groups fall apart. I'm also bringing the LBT mold I used to shoot in my 30BR to see how a coated checked bullet shoots. I'm only bringing #9 powder so will watch for pressure signs as I go up.

It shot no better or worse than anything else I've tried but I'm not done trying to improve on it yet. This one is a plain base boat tail. Maybe he made a flat base too, I don't know .

I haven't found the miracle bullet for the 30-30 rifles yet either. I will just use what I have now and let Rocinante rest up some.
