Herewith another result with the sized down #U321297HP bullets in .30-30. Details of the load and rifle have been given in previous posts.

These are frames pulled from the video taken by the Oneleaf NV100 device attached to the back of my scope - aim, shot & result. Unlike the thermal images seen elsewhere, the image with the NV goes to a total whiteout when the shot goes off, and a second or two later clears to show the result - or lack thereof.

With night shooting, a shot animal that makes any sort of a run can be lost to view until morning, leaving all sorts of doubts about the quality of the shot. The video is a valuable check that the shot was good.

This fellow was checking out the carcase of a Chital deer when he copped it. That front of the shoulder aim seems to be the good one. The hard HP 175 gn cast bullet at 2200 fps did it's usual sterling job. That makes 56 for the year.

You are only as good as your library.

Sounds like you need help. I'm on the way.

With rifle in hand, I confidently go forth into the darkness.

Great report story and pictures. I really enjoy them. Maybe more accepted wisdom laid to rest.
