Anybody here read a book about the Civil War called”Jack Hinson’s One Man War”. A Civil War sniper.
If you did and have a strong interest in muzzle loaders, this is an interesting read and factual. Including the rifle there is much about the lives of upper Kentucky people in that era.

I haven't read the book but recently listened to a story about him on The Wild West Extravaganza podcast. I'll have to pick up the book. That podcast is great and the guy doing it is pretty funny.

Well worth reading and goes to prove the old adage about being careful about who you anger. Hinson was a pro in the long range category on that river.

Correct, it reveals a whole perspective on the Civil War.
I'm in Minnesota and my very limited Civil War reading has involved the First Minnesota. First because our governor was in Washington the day Ft. Sumter was attacked and he offered our Military group to Lincoln to help with the cause. MN was the "first" to make an offer.
