Walton County Ga. a woman defends herself and her children shooting a home invader. I bet we will never see that make national news or the yahoo home page.

Just saw the report on Fox News. She fired six times at the perp as he came up into the room where she and her children were from a crawl space under the house. Long rap sheet.

The mass media isn't even worth watching any more. The worst part is that even the densest members of society know they're being manipulated by the media, but still rely on them for information anyway. Most people are simply too damn lazy to look beyond what's in front of their faces, even when they know it's wrong.

I am not surprised that Fox reported it but I will be very surprised if CNN or CNBC reports anything about it. I watch very little news anymore because everthing they report on is negitive there is never anything postive on the news and alot of lies.

:coffee     We began passing around Armed Citizen reports on Facebook a while back.  This one is just the latest.  The NRA and other organizations (Tea Party, 2nd Amendment, National gun owners, etc.) have been posting this kind of report for months now.

Most of the media is so biased they are no longer reporting news but merely spewing out propaganda for the social agenda of Obama & his cohorts in government. Obamacare & “gun control” are all about controlling the masses. be alert.

In the last month in Casper, Wy, there have been two attemted armed robberies foiled by ordinary folks who were “packin". Doubt if that will make national news. It's seems there was also a shooting at the College in Casper, Wy. News media was all excited till it they lerned it involved a knife and the shooting was with a bow.

Fox News is my network of choice, but I must say there can be as biased as any other.

Recently O'Reilly went on a crusade about the former Marine held down here accross the river in a Mexican prison and Fox News in general picked up the drum beat. The reporting showed either complete ignorance of the situation or the situation was intentionaly misrepresented. I think the latter. There have been several other recents stories they did not get right.

I think it was Mark Twain who said, “Don't believe anything you read in the newspaper and only half of what you see". I don't think much as changed. It is a dangerous thing to let any news outlet do your thinking for you and accept the facts they present as the real facts.

A hundred to two hundred years ago, news outlets didn't even pretent to be “fair and balanced", they presented every story from their own bias and slant. The same is true today, except they are more hyprocrital about it all.

We should all learn to be critical thinkers and question anything that is told to us by anybody in the media, at whatever level.

I have always been a “critical thinker” & was taught by my parents to question. Analytical thinking has always been a pet peeve with me. Critical & analytical thinking scares the bejesus out of politicians with an “agenda". Politicians are not the only one's with the “control freak” agenda. You know, that raging co-dependence posessed by those who think they know best. I call it the “little hitler syndrome” or the “little people disease” not necessarily having to do with physical stature. My critical thinking & analytical approach has cost me over the years. A price that I was glad to pay in exchange for the sanctity of my soul & mental health. There are those who would willingly take away one's values, quality of life, integrity & dignity simply because they can. One must be ever vigilant in protecting themselves. Pat

I don't listen to the news. It's always been about “the story". It almost never is about the truth.

6 time offender. Just when is enough, enough? No, he cannot be “rehabilitated". But say, let's keep bringing him in and turning him out. Maybe somebody will kill the A'hole and do what the law wouldn't. Uhh, before, during, or after the next crime?:shock: Donnie needs to get her a high capacity Glock, or a nice defender shotgun. Or hell, both. Dead offenders are never repeat offenders.

We ALL have biases. (of course OURS are the good ones - )

I've found it useful to be able to argue BOTH sides of any given issue.

My brother was on a debate team in school - they would prepare to argue either side - when they GOT TO THE DEBATE they would be told WHICH side they were to argue for.

If you want to see what a writer wants you to take away from his article, just look at the last 2-3 paragraphs. There you will find the impression he wants you have. Sure they'll appear to be neutral and unbiased in the main portion of the article but what he/she really wants you to come away with is regurgitated at the end of the article. (Kind of like when you leave a night club humming to yourself the last song that just heard.) This is one way to sniff out editorials disguised as news reports on pages other than the editorial section.

Journalism is a lost art in America. Thanks in part to the radical left leaning journalism professors that indoctrinate young students. Once journalists discovered they take down a sitting President (Nixon) and influence a war (Vietnam) they have it in the their heads that they have “power".

Identify those who won't honor the difference between news and opinion/editorial and avoid their work.
