I'll be visiting family in Leesburg and Ashburn and was wanting the names and locations of some gun stores in Northern Virginia some of you from that area might recommend. I have a C&R FFL.
Thanks, Bruce Buhler Central California KD6DRU

Clark Brothers in Warrenton Virginia this was and probably still is the premier gunshop in northern VA since back in the early 60's !
Just be prepared this place is usually ALWAYS packed with people during the wekend and during the week !
Also “David Condon's” In Middleburg Virginia is a great place to go . Lots and lots of Civil War and earlier . Also usually a good selection of nice old shotguns and rifles .

For antiques and militaria you must not miss C.S. Arms in Upperville, VA. Cliff Sophia is very knowledgeable and walking the store is like visiting a museum. A virtual treaure trove for the C&R hunter! There are also some great buys on pre-1945 sporting rifles, revolvers and shotguns, as he handles alot of estate guns from the local area, and as the WWII vets die off he takes on entire collections to get the choice antiques which are his bread & butter, so the common shooter-grade stuff is sold off quickly at bargain prices. I found my Colt New Service .45 DA, a modified choke 20-ga. Winchester Model 12 pump gun, a commercial finish S&W .45 DA Hand Ejector and Winchester Model 54 .30-'06 there, as well as a Webley Mk.IV, and a US Property marked High Standard Model B .22. Was in there yesterday and he had a mechanically sound, but finish-worn Colt Police Positive .32 New Police for $225! A photo-tour of eye candy follows:

Last time I was in Upperville and visited CS Arms they had a rather intresting Richmond rifled musket and also an intresting $6000 price tag !

$6000 for an original CS Richmond rifle-musket in the condition which that one was is a bargain. I told Cliff that he sold it too cheap and could have easily gotten $16K for it.

You musta seen a different one then I did then !
The one I saw had a mend in the stock with a metal wrap and a couple things about it didn't quite add up . I think $6000 for the one I saw was about a third high .

Here is my Nothern Virgina gunstore report. My son and I made the rounds to Upperville and Middleburg the day after Thanksgiving and what a treat. We drove Highway 50 to CS Arms in Upperville. I found Cliff very hospitable and his store has a large variety from flintlocks to WWII firearms and corresonding accoutrements. I saw the Colt Police Postive 32 Ed mentioned and it definitely would be a good addition to a 32 collection. I already have two Police Positive Specials in 32-20 and 38 Special.
David Condon's store in Middleburg is also a great spot to visit. He also had firearms from the same periods as CS Arms, but few accoutrements.
Either of the stores had guns I'd like to have but alas I'd have to reduce some my collection to have the cash.
I want to thank 6pt-sika and and Ed for the suggestions of northern Virginia stores. Next time I hope to get down to Warrenton.
