Howdy,  Looking for experianced and tested 375 H&H Loads from lite plinkers to maybe up to large dangerous game. I shoot a Ruger #1, and a CZ.  I have Ranch Dog 235, and Lyman 375296 & 375449 in standard and HP molds.  Both rifles are very accurate with jacketed.  Have some loads that shoot well including one for single RB, for 25 yd plinking.

Thanks in advance for responses!                                                                               1Shirt :coffee

Been playing a bit with a BRP 378-310(uncatalogued)  in my Ruger also.  So far, 38.2gr 4759 gives a little over 2000fps and about an inch group at 100yds.  Understand 36-39gr 5744 works well also with the bullet.

The load is 375449 fairly hard and 45 grs of 3031. I shot it for more than 20 years. Elmer Keith reccomeded it. that bullet was designed for the 375. for plinking the same bullet end 13 grs of unique. I took  more than 20 deer with it. load it to touch the rifling.

1 to 10 tin and lead it will expand on deer to more than 300 yds

Super Redball 2, Have not had 3031 on hand for quite awhile.  Think it is time to get a can.  lf its good enough for you and Elmer, it sure is good enough for me.

I've been using 36 grains of IMR 4198 and about 2.0 grains of dacron under a 300 grain boolit, sized .378".  Primer is Fed 210M.  Velocity is about 1950 fps, accuracy is promising.  My current alloy is Lyman no 2 but as I push up the velocity, I'm thinking my next batch will be Linotype.  I'm using a 4-hole mold from old NEI, sort of round nosed but with the little DD ring up front to ride on the lands. - CW

Chasw, Am interested in that 300 grainer. Is it a PB, or GC? Would you be willing to trade some of them for375449GC, Flat nose or HP?

Got to the range last Wed, am shooting a CZ w/1.5x6x and shot at 50 yds. Shot 10 w/375355 over 15 gr. of Red dot, Mag pr. and 10 with 375449GC over 35 gr of 4198 w/1 gr. dac. Both stayed under an inch an a half, and the blts were not weighed. Heading to Cabellas in next couple of days to get some 3031.

Does any one have 378647 that they would like to have some trade for some liter blts? Would like to try the 335gr.

375449 can be shot without the GC in light loads.

Minimum 10 grains Bullseye, about 1000 f.p.s. quiet plinker and small game load.

Maximum w/o GC 13 grains Bullseye for about 1300 f.p.s., performance is similar to the .38-55. Good woods load for deer in soft alloy.

Use soft alloy 8-10 BHN is best, not harder than 13 BHN. Shoot as-cast and unsized if will chamber easily and extract without de-bulleting. Lightly tumble in Lee Liquid Alox. Standard large rifle primers. No filler needed.

OK to substitute Red Dot or 700X for Bullseye loads listed above.

Similar results can be had in the range of 12-16 grs. of Unique, SR-7625 or PB.

I have a 5 shot 1.5” group hanging on my wall up in my reloading room. The notation says “100 yds, .375 H&H, 63 gr. H4350, Lyman 375449 lino, no filler wad. Don't remember whether I used Tamarack or Javelina lube, but it was one or the other. It was shot from the bench, with a 2.5 power Leupold scope. The rifle was a Remington 700. I didn't have a chronograph back in '83 (when I shot that target) but I figured it was probably moving good enough for anything I wanted to shoot. Think I'd probably go to something a little softer than lino for hunting, tho. It was a pretty good, consistent load.

No problem, I'll send you a PM with description of what I have.  Its an NEI design with two main driving bands plus GC, the main forepart is less than bore diameter, instead the little ring at the front centers the boolit along the bore's axis, supposedly. - CSW
