I have a CVA Hunter in 450 Bushmaster and would like some cast bullet advise. I am looking for plinking loads for 200, 230, and 255 grain bullets. I know it is a much larger case, but would 45 Colt data (for Ruger and other high strength guns) work as a starting point? I have several powders that the latest Hodgdon reloading manual suggests (IMR4227, L'IL Gun, and Longshot). Any thoughts on the matter? My thanks in advance for any help sent my way.

I have had good luck with Unique and the 300 gr .452 Lee powder coated. 2" @ 50 yards with very low recoil. I used 45 Colt data.

I don't see why you could not use 45 Colt data, I used 45 Colt and 45ACP data for reduced loads in the 458 Win. Mag, and some of them worked quite well.
