anybody know what this is? i think it is a wire holder for what i don't know. looks like it might make a bullet puller. can't get but one pic at a time. so will do another for a close up.

Yup, wire stripper or crimping tool. Klein still makes most tools used by linemen and electricians.

It's for crimping copper sleeves to make splices on open wire.

4sooth is right. We still have one in our shop, a newer model, that we occasionally use. You have an oldie. I would hang on to it.

I found this several years ago at the base of a newly installed power pole. I have never found anyone that knows what it is including people that work for the power company.
