Just received a three cavity MP mold for 25-20 gas check, hollow point.  4198 in the 10 ring at 50 yards.  Love their molds brass with a lot of options on the hollow point inserts.

The 25/20 WCF is a fun caliber to load and mess with.  A pound of lead and a pound of powder go a long way.  I run Lyman #257420 to 2000 FPS and #257312 to 1800 FPS, and both do BAD THINGS to varmints to 150 yards.  Ground squirrels HATE the 25/20.

I have a nice low wall Winchester. It came with a 4x external adjustment scope. It was a wood chuck hunters gun from the North East, up state NY.  It has been fun getting it to shoot.  I will dig up some of my load data. I just moved so things are a mess yet!

Congrats, did you get the MP 258-640 or the 257 Jackrabbit mold?

And what rifle were you using?  Curious minds that have a couple 25-20's want to know....

For the higher-velocity gas-checked loads, IMR 4198 and RL-7. For lower-end stuff (1400 FPS) i use the 4198 and Alliant 2400.

I too have the MP mold for my .25-20 in a 1892 Winchester. I have been using 3F Swiss powder on the GC bullet. Such a fun rifle to shoot. MP molds are excellent quality, the customer service is great. I would recommend them to anyone.
