This has been a harrowing summer. First it was health issues. OK now. Then Social Security said I owed them $14,000.00 and cut off my money for three months. But . . . I haven't forgotten how to get creative & make money! I'm a survivor! Finally got Social security straightened out. Then there were dental issues! Got that taken care of. Whew! Give me a break! I'm trying to keep a very low profile right now. LOL! Heading to the mountains tomorrow with my .50 Caliber flinter. Maybe bambi will show her head. Antlerless only. Pat

If someone else had of done to me what I did to myself . . . I'd have killed him. Humility is an asset. Heh - heh.

friend gary Yes they do! From the bench, with primitive sights I can put three round balls in a 2” circle at 50 yds.! Pat

Well, while we are grousing like the bunch of old guys that we are, 2016 was not the best year for me either. Mom passed in February, just short of her 84th birthday. Losing one's parents is one of those things that is bound to happen as we get up there close to 60 or so. Still, it's hard.

Although, reading history puts our situation in perspective. Compared to the Stalingrad siege, Bataan death march, etc. I guess none of us has anything to complain about really. No one is actively trying to kill me, I have too much to eat, house to live in, several old cars that take me where I want to go, good job that I can still work several more years, more guns, molds, and accessories than I can really use. So I have had better years but in perspective I can't really complain about this one.

My 54 Pedersoli Blue Ridge flint long rifle while shooting off the bench has printed 2 1/4” on my good days. I'm rather inconsistent which I blame on eyesight more than anything.

health and government problems have to be the worst. This hasn't been my favorite summer either. The last two years found me at the range almost every other day. Not this year. My kidling got married, then the wife decided we needed new floors. That was like moving, everything had to be moved out so we could remove the carpeting and then have the new floor installed. as soon as that was done, she had me putting in a new kitchen. We didn't have water in the kitchen or the dishwasher for 2 months. Yup, we were truly, camping in. Two weeks ago we finally got the counter tops, sink, and dishwasher installed. Now I'm waiting for good weather so I can cut the tiles she wants for a back splash.

I've been so darn busy on the kitchen, I had a Saturday off. We were stopped due to needing more materials and while I was drinking my morning coffee, I realized it was the first day of muzzleloading deer season. RATS! I'm not prepared and haven't made any arraignments much less gotten my tags yet. :(
