Having trashed my shades of my Chrony , that's what a Mini 14 is good for ill add. A 1/8 inch brazing rod bent around in a whoop and fit into the shade hole has just enough spring tension to place a nice tee shirt on and keep itself in place. -Charlie

Yup Charlie, I've thrashed a couple of chrony shades myself! Pistol cal. carbines and auto loading handguns in my hand at times do reek havoc on the equipment. Gp
