Pan lubing bullets

Hi All: I have ventured into the pan lullet lube areana and am quite happy with the results /. From the net I found the simplest recipy of 3 sticks canning wax ane 1 8 oz jar Vasiline//

I made up a little dbl boiler and cooked it up on a little hot plate--(gotta be SURE to keep it out of the kitchen //) I used a small flower pot base for the first test pour of 30 rounds. Took it out to soon and poped out the bullets but little stayed in the groves”€I saved Ã‚Â¼ of it and after an hour they were ok //. The second batch I sprayed pam in the pan and put it in the fridge for an hour. It droped out great but was slimy so use a very little pam. Here is my humble setup

I found cooling and poking the bullets out to be frustrating since I usually broke the cake. I've gone to cooling the pan to where the lube is still a bit warm, then pulling the bullets out with needle nose pliers. A firm grip and slight rotation breaks the tension and the bullet comes right out. Too soft and the base s**ks lube into the cavity as it exits. And yes, if you slip it scratches the nose but to no ill effect. Works for longer bullets but probably not for the shorties.

I don't care for paraffin. Beeswax is commonly available in craft stores. I use Emmerts formula,50% beeswax, 40% Crisco, and 10% olive or canola oil. In your case, more vaseline will increase stickiness.

I added about 3 OZ Vasiline to my mix--seems to be a little better. In fact I think the lube is working very well//-One lb wax, one lb vasiline and one red crayon and I have enough to lube 1000s of rounds// My hands have never felt so good// Perry
