Well, Over the years my hearing has been brutalized. For most of my life proper hearing protection wasn't in vogue. In the army they gave us those pathetic little orange plugs to stuff in our ears. Like it was going to do any good when around M60 tank fire, 105 recoilless rifles & 4.2” mortars. Then after military service it was noise on the construction site e.g. heavy equipment, jackhammers, air compressors & pile drivers . So with that said my right ear is pretty much gone & my left ear so-so. A buddy of mine got two hearing aides through the VA while they were running the hearing aide program but he never liked them. So . . . he gave them to me. I can actually hear the TV with the sound turned down, I can hear the turn signals in my truck go “click - click” and I no longer have to ask others to repeat themselves!! Wow! I have been missing so much! My buddy saved me about $4,000.00. I can hear again!! Pat
If someone else had of done to me what I did to myself . . . I'd have killed him. Humility is an asset. Heh - heh.
