The versions about carcinogenic food are varied. What kind of foods are carcinogenic? Is there any reliable basis? How about their carcinogenic grade? Every now and again, similar rumors could come out to toggle people's frayed nerves.

I would quit worrying about carcinogenic foods if I were you. Speaking as a one time cellular biologist and medical researcher: Life causes cancer. Some idiot who needed to publish a paper on his research to keep his grant, and had to publish on the subject they applied under (All grants from the National Science Foundation must now be in relation to a HUMAN disease.) accumulated a bunch of questions about what people who were being treated for cancer ate or had eaten and said: “There is a high probability that processed meats and or smoked meats and anything else we can get away with citing causes cancer." In general these “studies” are BS and should not have been allowed to be printed. They are worthless from a scientific point of view and do nothing but waste everybody's time and cause a lot of Hooplaw. You might as well say: ” Every subject that had or has cancer drank water. Therefor, water contributes to cancer.

I could not agree with you more. We need a study on people who do studies. Might throw a little light on the truth for a change.

The problem began back in the early 70's with the ” War On Disease “. They changed the grant structure so that the NSF could not award grant money to any person or group NOT STUDYING A HUMAN DISEASE OR DISORDER. This approach does not work with research. Breakthroughs can not be ordered like a Mocha Latte, and invariably occur while looking for something else not compliance with a set of foolish federal regulations. Anyway, most research labs just kept on doing what they had been doing while rewriting their proposals so that they sounded like or were somehow related to a human disease. Unfortunately it opened the doors to a number of medical people who while being excellent at their intended jobs knew nothing about how to formulate a hypothesis or design an experiment; giving rise to the “STUDY'. A STUDY is where you go back through a bunch of case data and try to relate it to your grant.
The only way this relates to bullet casting and shooting is the lead and lead poisoning. Yes lead is toxic. Especially when moving faster than a few hundred fps. Heavy metals are cumulative poisons. You have to acquire them over a period of time. Lead poisoning is easily curable. Stop ingesting it. There are more toxic metals in the mud of Santa Monica Bay and the street in front of your house that are more toxic than lead will ever be. Cr++, Ba, Mo, Cu, cobalt and others are by products of oil refining. The more you cook the goop especially thermal cracker bottoms (or the dregs of the crude) the thicker it gets until it becomes asphalt which your street is made of. In fact according to RECRA standards everything paved with asphalt is an ILLEGAL TOXIC WASTE DUMP. Reassuring isn't it. Of course to get the metal out you would need to boil it in concentrated nitric acid and drink it, but the press is more afraid of lead.
NOW. LETS GET BACK TO THE SUBJECT OF THIS FORUM BULLET CASTING, SHOOTING, AND RELOADING. Brodie
