If you've followed the 'coffee' thread here's a side track for you. It's a movie. Pretty crazy but fun. War vet pig hunters in NorCal meet Manson Family, pot farmers, wild nymphs, and on and on. There's a guy who makes gourmet coffee on a Coleman stove. This is Definitely not for kids. Graphic violence to spare. But some cool guns too. Check it out if you dare. See how we role in NorCal!

Sort of like outlaw bikers do Deliverance?

Yep! I liked it so much I bought the movie. It's movies like this that make me have unrealistic concerns when I'm out in the boonies. 'Deliverance' was a shocker for a young man, back when. Now it's “The Hills Have Eyes". PS EDIT; Along those lines I bought a police trade in Glock 22. I'm thinking of it as a candidate for boonie camping fireside belt gun Trijicons and rail light. The old days I used a Colt Detective Special and a GI crook neck flashlight to repel invaders. Lions particularly annoy me.

Looks nice; I always thought that Razorback could have used a sequel.

tturner53; I'm with you on the lions. Those things scare the devil out of me. You don't know where they are until they are on your back chewing on your head. I used to bow hunt the front (archery only) side of the Angeles Natl. Forest. When I was on my way back down to the truck after dark I usually carried a broad headed arrow in my hand so I at least had something to fight back with, a little. Brodie

Tim,
At least the wolves are doing some good in Washington. The official count is about 125, the reality is about 400. They are out competing the mountain lions, so the young pumas are starving and coming into town to eat cats and dogs and coyotes. Then they get shot as a “nuisance” animal. The issue is that the wolves are hunting in groups of about 6 so you better have two Glocks and lots of spares.
Ken: “The Ghost and the Darkness” is my #3 all time favorite movie. I read Paterson's book about 1960 in Jr. High, and slept with my Ithaca double 12 for a couple of weeks.

Man-Eaters of Tsavo, and Other East African Adventures. Douglas' character missed it but you don't really notice; his pistol was a nice touch though.
So, getting back at our big running chops... Gun? Caliber? Alloy? Load? Age of the Virgin Bait?

I can't abide being ate. Something about it bothers me more than just getting hit by a bus. I've heard the actual soundtrack of a guy being consumed by a griz. I wish I had never searched that one. Anyway. we are still a food source in some places. Dress accordingly. I'm heading for Washington in a month or so to pursue elk. I'm happy to know my California CCW is honored there as I plan to have a gun bearer carrying my rifle for me! I'm a tich gimpy and so go light as possible to try to get up the mountain with the youngsters. If it turns out eventful I'll report here.

There are advantages to living somewhere there is nothing big enough to eat 'cha. We do have black bears, bobcats and coyotes, but they have plenty of deer to eat and in closer to town no shortage of unleashed oriental fur dishmop dogs and puddy tats.
Our two cats are rescues ferals whom have been turned into honest women, having shut off the feral kitten factory, and they are content to be indoor beneficiaries of the feline welfare state. But I have it on good authority that neither are Democrats because they both like to help sort brass and one of them sleeps with a cocked and locked .45 while the other stands watch in the window...

The current crop of two legged feral animals are many times more dangerous than any of the four legged animals.
