Hello my name is Jeremy Morvent and I recently bought a used 6ppc because I had someone urging me to get into reloading and competition shooting. I have decided not to get into it. What s**ks is I just bought this gun. I would love to sale it and try to get back as much of my money as I can. Any help would be appreciated. It is a 6ppc built by Jim Borden with and H&R custom stock , has a Rimrock action with polished trigger and trigger guard. It is pillar and bedded and has a Kreiger barrel that is ND to .269. Its is a beautiful gun with black and silver flake. Excellent condition! If interested call Jeremy at 337-764-5500 or [email protected].

nice !! first class all the way .

it would be fun to see what that would do with cast bullets .

ken

edit:;   btw, as long as you have this very nice machine, you might consider shooting some cast bullets with this group ... we are a bit less hard edge competitive than the jacket shooters .  in fact most of us shoot just to hear the gun go off ...at least until someone claims to shoot a better group !!

hey, i got a borden action 6ppc also !!  never stuck it together for the same reason ... tell you what ::: if you shoot yours with cast , i will screw mine together and shoot cast in mine ... ; we can learn together ...

Mr Campbell, honestly the reason i bought the gun was because an older man i befriended who was an ex marine gave my daughter a 6PPC as her first deer rifle. He hand loaded me 150 shells ready to go. This next year she will start hunting. She has moved up from her pink Daisey to.a Ruger Takedaown 22. So next year she will be ready to go. But i thought it was nice of him to do that and just continued to spend time with him. I would help him (or basically do) anything he needed help with. Well he is a competition BR shooter and he sighted in all my hunting rifles from my Rem 243, 270 wsm, 308 5R, and my Sendero 300. Then he was teaching me some things about reloading and i was buying a few stuff i needed. Long story short tho he told he was buying a gun back his brother had sold and it was 1200$ with scope and everything. A 30 BR that was abke to shoot Varmint and Hunter classes. Well a few days went by and the president of the club he shoots at was selling two guns that Jim Borden built him. A 30 BR and 6ppc. I wenr to buy the 30 BR but one of their friends bought it out from under me. So i bought this 6ppc because the man said he had a 30 BR barrel i could have. Then when he saw the gun and all he started talking about trading for the gun he had coming in. I trusted the old man and was like whatever. He said we can put the 30 BR barrel on and you can see which shoots better and which i like better. So anyways the gun came in that he bought from his brother. And he called me and said come pick up your gun it came in. I was like ok. Well let me say the competition 30BR the old man shoots is almost the exact looking gun as the ppc i have. Well when i got over there he was like oh your gonna live this gun. It ready to go. He said it had a few dings but it was a fine gun. When he pulled it out i almost thought it was a joke. I was painted over, dinged all up, and nothing i woulda ever bought. So i said ill just keep the ppc i bought and get a barrel. I was leaving the ppc at his house because he was the one teaching me so when i said that i wanted my gun he got a little agitated. He was like well you said you would trade. I said yeah if i shot both guns and like this one but this one is ugly. Its dinged up, cann see the original paint job, action dont match the barrel, and its just not even the same price as the gun i bought. He forgot he told me what he paid for his brothers gun back. Well he told me he would have to pull a barrel off the ppc along with rings annd mounts cuz i said i would trade him. I said ok pull them off and give me what i bought. Well he did then he ask me if i could get all my stuff out of his shop it was getting cluttered. I said yes sir i can. I got my stuff and my gun (that was together but he gave it back like you see) and i left. Stupid me should have grabbed the yeti cooler i got him for always being nice to me and my daughter. Help wirh the clutter issue. So now i am stuck with a gun i probably over paid for and im either gonna sale it or find something else to do with it. I dont have the time really to teach myself how to reload nor after him acting that way do i have the interest. He was trying to get over on me and he couldnt. Even his own son told me that cuz i called him after it happened. At first it hurt my feelings and i was like dang ill give the man the gun if he wants it that bad because i enjoyed spending time with him. But then the more i thought about it i said no just sale the gun. So im trying to sale it. Have no interest in this gun at all. I can get a score card from the guy i bought it from if you would honestly like to see the way it shoots. But as far as me shooting it, no sir, i have no interest now. Thank you for your response Mr Campbell. Have a blessed day sir. Jeremy Morvent

sorry to hear of your experience with that one reloader. the majority of shooters and

handloaders would not have treated you or your daughter in such a way. don"t let it

discourage you with shooting and learning to reload. there are still people out here that

will help you. think positive.

I appreciate that very much and i just found out a lil more about this person and how much of a snake he is thru someone who knows him. I have bought from a specific store and the store owner knew him well and told me that he had been wanting to tell me to watch the guy but didnt wanna come off wrong. The shop owner even called the man i bought the gun from (who happens to be the President of the gun club he shoots for) and he isnt very happy but he is gonna help me. Im still selling this gun if anyone ever gets interested and i will take a hit on it. I just do not want the gun.

Also sorry to hear of your unfortunate experience, even worse when it involves the loss of a “friend".

Personally, I've found it helpful to include an asking price and the location of the item when trying to sell one of my toys.

Mr Carlson you are right. Im new here and i am not so sure what is allowed to put or not put. I am def not here to offend or disrespect anyone. I thought i had mentioned if anyone was interested my email is [email protected]. I just brought the gun to have the barrel put back on the correct way by the person I bought it from. He even asked me why the barrel was off? Then he said nevermind and remembered the phone call he just got from the gun dealer i buy from. Basically this guy in question is known for swapping parts. And he was trying to get one over in me. Well i may be stupid but i just didnt turn stupid over night and i caught on. But without trying to disrespect anyone the gun cost 3200$ to make and i bought it for 2200$. I would like to get as much as possible back because we all know that alot can be done with 2200$. But i live in Lake Charles Louisiana and i can ship it thru an FFL dealer to wherever. Im sure since its getting shipped that way it would have to be to another someone with an FFL. Happy to send pics if someone wants to email me. THANK YOU ALL FOR THE HELP.

Good thing you didn't go for the 30BR barrel deal as 30BR and 6ppc cases are not the same size at the base.  To use them you would also have to buy a new bolt. I love the looks of the rifle but just bought a new Grizzly lathe to do my own barrels and am strapped for cash.   Mike CBA Webmaster.

Mike, at one time you were probably correct. Now there are several actions that the bolt face is designed to work with both .220 Russian (parent case for PPC) and .308. The Shilen DGA and the Stiller Viper are the 2 I've had first hand experience with. In fact my current Viper that I use for cast shooting and is chambered for 30BR had a very impressive former life in the hands of a bench rest hall of famer as a PPC. At one time, before I acquired a second rifle I was swapping barrels several times a month so I could shoot all events. It is a glue in and I did not bother to even remove the scope.  I had a Borden built bench gun but it was not on a Borden action so I'm not sure about that one. Don Ross

I sold it for what I bought it for. Thanks guys! Yall were all helpful and appreciated. If yall ever run into a guy by the name of Larry Tilley, dont let him touch your guns. A man i trusted that I have nothing nice to say about. And several others wanted to warn me i found out.

Thought-provoking, “roller-coaster” saga, wasn't it, guys? I'm glad it ended well, and I am especially proud of my fellow CBA member's responses to it. I hope that some of your class rubs off onto me, somehow. someday, -Maybe?
