Check out Bruno's in Phoenix AZ. They often have gently used Nightforce for a good price.

I feel your pain on the price, it is great scope and worth the money.  Several websites offer at $1499.00, I bought both of mine from OpticsPlanets. One caution, mounted on a Remington 700 VLS using Weaver mounts and Burris Signature Zee rings, the bolt cleared only .030 and this was a problem.

One competitor from Clark Rifles bought one, reconditioned, for $1199.00. He did not disclose the source, Midsouth often has reconditioned scopes of all types for 10% to 20% less. I bought a reconditioned Weaver 46X from them that is an excellent scope.
