I’m looking for advice on a couple loads. I am using a powder coated 30 cal. 175 gr plain base bullet. I have been using 12.5 gr of SR4756 in .30-06 with good results. I am about to run out of this powder and there is no more to be found. I would like to start using Tite Group as I have a good supply and it is available. Can anyone recommend a Tite Group load in the 1400 fps range for both .30-30 and .30-06?

red dot or unique will work better. TG in these cartridges is usually just subsonic.

Yes, red dot would be my first choice but I ran out some time back. Does your LGS have any in stock? Mine hasn’t in several years. Hence my asking for advice on Tite Group loads.

If I we’re trying titegroup in my ‘06 I might look at handgun data showing pressure testing and that bullet weight using titegroup and start there. The 06 case is so much bigger so velocity and pressure should be lower.

My local store has red dot and green dot and herco in stock. They had it for 6 months or more. You can't use titegroup as you will hit pressure before you get to the speeds you list for both cart.

Do you have any other shotgun or pistol powders?

I came across a load that a forum member posted some time ago:

As a guideline, 9.5 gr. of Titegroup with a Lyman 311299 200 gr. bullet gave me an avg. 1350 fps, e.s. 24 fps, s.d. 8 fps, as well as a very decent group of 10 shots--about 1-1/2" at 100 yds..HTH.
This is in an over-the-course rifle, built for competition in High Power also in .308 Win.
