I have a pound of 4756 and I would like to use it up in 44 magnum plinking loads The burn rate seems to be between Unique and 2400, somewhere around Herco. I'm thinking using Unique data should be OK. Any thoughts?

Beagle, my old Lyman CB Handbook from 1973 lists loads for their 245 gr. SWC (#429421) from 11.0 grs. (1120 fps) to 13.0 grs. (1295 fps).  For comparison, Unique maxed out at 12.0 grs, and 2400 went to 22.5 grs.  I think most everyone now a days thinks that 22.5 gr. load is a bit excessive!  The Lyman 4th Edition CB Handbook (2010) lists a max of 20.6 grains with that bullet.  Hope this helps.

I used It in 20-gauge. Expect it would be OK as a Herco substitute in handguns.

My favorite powder for full charge 32/20 loads.

Hodgan still lists it on their internet load data program.
