Sinclair Varmint rests (Older models were earlier called the "Benchrest" model) have a flat bearing ring between the adjustment ring and the base that smoothes the adjustment.
Does anyone know where a person can find this flat bearing ring, it is not offered as a separate item on their website?

thrust bearings work best if you use them between the matching hardened steel " washers " ... the bearing guy will know.

One hint is not to use too thick of grease. A light coat of something like Lubiplate and clean it every season. Been doing that on my Hart and it is doing good after 25 years.

sounds like a thrust bearing.
Do you know the OD and ID and the thickness? If so there are supply houses that market them.

If you cannot find it from Sinclair. One place to check is W.W. Grainger. They carry a lot of industrial supply items. Including bearings.

Speaking of rests....the large Gator rests look like they are resistant to moving during rifle recoil. Any thoughts on a good move resistant sand bag type rear rest?

Thanks everyone. A quick search shows many sources and many sizes, probably far cheaper than Sinclair's replacement price.
I have two Sinclair rests with different size posts and will add a bearing to the older, thinner post just for the smoother adjustment.
