My SAECO hardness Tester quit working, every alloy tested 5.5. on the scale. I bought this in the early 1980's before leaving Illinois. Contacting SAECO, they told me to return it and they would either fix or replace.
Today, I received a new Hardness Tester in the mail.

I sent in a SAECO tester from the Santa Anita days.
They did their best to calibrate it despite not being made in their shop.
