FYI, if you haven't cruised NOE's site lately there are several molds being made of steel and listed for sale at a very good price.

Is NOE ever going to start making molds again? It'd be a shame to lose another maker permanently.

What's the problem? I've had great results with them.

NOE does now have a machinist and is starting to produce moulds but they have a long way to go IMHO.  I have about a dozen of their moulds, no complaints on any of them.

If the two steel molds I have bought in the last couple of months are any indication of future mold quality I say they are on the right track. Both cast as good a bullet as I am capable of producing and the fit and finish is top grade for near half the money of other steel custom molds. Hope the pricing holds but I fear that will change as the tariffs are applied to the steel we have to buy for our goods.

I have about a half dozen of Al’s aluminum molds and have had zero problems. If the machine side can get up to speed he’ll be good to go. It sounds like staffing is getting close and he might be turning the corner. July, August? I’ve been waiting for a 72g 22 cal mold to get back in stock. We need NOE. No one offers the over the counter breadth of calibers and designs like he does.

On the custom side, Tom over at Accurate retired and now that’s being run by Daniel Croft and his father. I have a single cavity iron mold coming from them in the next couple weeks. The first one from the Crofts. I have 8 or so of Tom’s molds. He did great work. How he could hold the tolerance he did while cutting custom dimensions was amazing.

I’m sure the Croft’s will keep the same quality. Like NOE, we need Accurate to succeed. No one that I’m aware of could provide custom molds at the price Tom charged, while holding the tolerance he held & still keep the turnaround on orders under 3 weeks. Nothing lasts forever does it. Bill C

I have a couple of NOE that have an issue. First is a 2 cavity 30 caliber with an oversized gas check shank. Sent in for a replacement which had the same issue. Al was a perfect gentleman to deal with. It didnt solve the problem but he at least he tried. I'll just shoot it check free and be happy. The other is a 3 cavity 30 cal. where the top of the blocks have a little step not being the same height. One of these days I'll fix it. Accurate and LBT molds are the only ones I've bought that had zero issues and hit the diameters exactly with the alloy used.

I have one of those gizmos and it does work but adds another step which shouldnt be needed. I'm into plain base bullets at the moment anyway so no big deal. I'm not putting his molds down because the others I have are great but just stating my experience.

I just got a marketing e from NOE that he have 25% off on everything in stock.  If I were Al I'd be looking at keeping cash flow going while the new machinist comes on board.  It might be a good idea to take time today to go over to his site and see if you can find some cost effective molds.  NOE and aren't related or anything like that but I sure would like him to succeed.  If you feel the same it might be a good time to give him some support.  Bill C.

Every mold I have from them is great , never had any issues but if I did I know that Al would immediately make it good. I buy his nose punches too , cant beat the quality or price.
