Received my new mold for my Beretta 92X 9mm.

It weighs in at 125 grns before sizing. Alloy is pure lead + 2% tin.9mm 125 grain.

If someone else had of done to me what I did to myself . . . I'd have killed him. Humility is an asset. Heh - heh.

Nice looking bullets. Ideal candidates for powder coat.

I use this MP mold in all my 9mm's and 38 Supers. It's a fantastic bullet and shoots very accurate in all my firearms including two 9mm Lugers.  It's a 125 grain Hollow Point and 130 grain solid depending of course on what alloy you use. Don't worry about it coming from Europe as I've gotten molds from them faster then if the company were in the U.S.  The ad tells you what all you get with the mold.

That alloy should be about 9 on the BHN spectrum. Is that sufficient hardness for the 9mm? I usually cast my semi-auto stuff of Lyman #2 alloy to keep the bullets harder at about 15 on the BHN, and to be sufficiently hard to withstand the velocity required to cycle the action. If you are powder coating, the 9 BHN would work of course, but I am curious if it works with greasers in a 9mm.

Nice looking bullets!

If you mean will they cycle and fire. Yes, most the time, but in reality pure lead is too soft. For one the noses get damages hitting the feed ramp and also you can't drive them as fast as they may lead up. I've shot very soft bullets from my 1911's and some 9mm pistols, but they were very mild loads.

I’m looking forward to hearing about your experience. I’ve had this mold on my mind for a while. I have the Lee six packer in 125 for the 357/38 and it shoots great in my 92 clone doing about 950 fps.

My reply was a polite way of pointing out to the OP, that his alloy may be too soft. I do not need tutoring on this subject. Most of us on here have been casting and loading for 5 decades and some, even more. Some new users may be getting their feet wet, hence my polite suggestion, framed as a question, to the OP. It's called tact.

Of note, I would prefer to have the OP answer the question I directed to him, not you, in his stead.

Well fellas, let's not be quarreling over whether my alloy will work or whether it won't. I've been casting for 52 years. Bought my first mold in 1972. Yep! Lyman 358156 GC. Still using it. Yes, I'm fully aware that my alloy may be too soft for my 92X to cycle properly and that I may get leading. That's a given. But . . . just for the heck of it I loaded up 15 rounds to play with. I use that alloy in my .45 Colt, .44 Special, .38 Special and .380 auto. That and the fact that my 20 lb. pot was full to the brim with my alloy. Temptation got the best of me and I threw caution to the wind and started casting! LOL! Couldn't help myself. If need be I have 10 lbs of linotype and will mix at a ratio of 10 lbs. Pb to 2 lbs linotype. That will give me a BHN of 11. Not to worry my brothers in arms! I am in full command of the subject matter and the dynamics thereof! LOL! Have a nice day guys!

Would your 92 clone happen to be a Taurus PT92? I had one and loved it . . . right up to the point where my house was broken into and it was stolen. Drat!

Hi there, my clone is a Girsan. Beretta parts fit the bottom half. The locking block, slide and barrel is a little different. I’m pretty pleased with it.
