Mitch and I exchanged many e-mails for 3-4 years, several moons ago. He was very helpful.

Never met him and was really saddened to read about him in the FS.

Mitch and I crossed paths every year at the Military Nationals from 2006 through 2018, plus the matches here in Washington. He was all ways helpful to new guys just starting and worked hard at the loal matches. RIP

I met Mitch about 1987. He was running matches at the Paul Bunyan range at Puyallup. Sorry to hear of his passing. For me Mitch was easy to get along with. Mitch used to shoot his 71 Mauser in the Schuetzen matches at Tacoma.

Seems wrong that I cannot find an obituary for him.

This is the only thing I can find.

From the Tampa Bay Times.

Don’t know if it is the same man.

Not the same man, as Mitch was in his mid/late 80's.

Mitch didn't want to have an obituaryy. All the nice things said above about Mitch are true. He was a great guy and a good friend. There is a note about his death in the current Fouling Shot.

Mitch was a tireless volunteer for the CBA. He is missed. His sudden passing was a shock to the local cast bullet community.

Below is a short obituary I wrote for our club newsletter. Mitch passed away due to injuries suffered in a car accident in Renton, WA on September 15, 2025. Per his wishes, there was no service.
IN PASSING

Club member George “Mitch” Migliaccio passed away September 18th at 86 years old. Mitch started shooting in the field, hunting with his uncles when he was 8 years old. After a career in the Navy, Mitch joined our range in the early 70s and became an avid rifle shooter, shooting everything from .177 air rifle to 45-70 big bore and 50 caliber black powder guns. Mitch had a passionate love for anything to do with guns, dabbling in almost every type of firearm, hosting matches and mentoring through the years. Mitch was preceded in death by his wife Anne. He is survived by a brother and sister. Mitch was interned at Tahoma National Cemetery.

Knew Mitch when I lived in Tacoma/University Place and was a member of Paul Bunyon.  Mitch ran different matches.  Mostly I remember him running military rifle matches with jacketed or cast bullets.  Good times.  He is missed and remembered.....
