I use this kind of thing on my scopes that don't have screw in lens covers. I dont know what your Weaver uses but I hate those lens covers that have the elastic cord between the front and back cover. I just got one of this kind off Amazon for my new Vortex. Different brand but they're all the same. It was about 13 bucks and protects the whole scope. There's also some that sell around 13 bucks for a 3 pack.

If the Weaver T-36 uses the same lens caps as the 24X, I think have a pair of caps.

I use bikini covers. Not sure the ocular size on your scope/if they would stretch. I do have them on cpl of 50mm's
