Joe, I have an accurate load in my 308 with 25grs of N130 with a 170gr cb. I use 30grs of N135 behind my MX4 214gr cb. I'd say you could start at 26grs with no problems. I see Jeff Bowles has used 28.1grs of N133 in his 308 with a 200gr cb................Dan

Hey, sounds like you found a treasure, hope u got plenty a primers!

I moved 5 years ago and found little treasures here and there in my stuff. Now my mind (is it the first thing to go or the second?) slips into neutral now and then and I got to go looking for something and I find a 'treasure' I've forgot about.:P........Dan

I wish I had found VV powders about 10 years ago !

So far I've messed with 110, 120 , 130 and 530 . But have a can of 133 on the shelf for future use !

May go to something soon for use in the 260 REM with a jacketed 120-130 graine bullet . I am thinking 140 150 or 160 would be about right for that application .

My Savage #12 in 308 used to like Varget but it now seems to favor N-135 with a 185-grain LBT bullet. I tried N-133 but it didn't group as well as the N-135.

But it seems to me I remmember reading somewhere that the bench rest boys liked 133 quite a bit in the PPC's and quite possibly the BR's ?

Correcto! The 6 PPC guys believe that N-133 IS THE HOLY GRAIL of powder. You don't see a whole lot of other powders being used. You know have to be others the vast majority is N-133. And the charge weight with a 68-grain 6 MM bullet varies not a whole lot from shooter to shooter.

I suspect I'm gonna have to have a 6mm PPC again at some point , not for cast but for jacketed . And I suppose 133 will be a great place to start !

On a side note I've been having very good results in a Triple Deuce using N-120 and 40 grain Nosler BT's !

If you were asking for loads for the 444 I could give you any number of loads with 2015 , RL7 , N-120 , N-130 , N-530 , H322 etc etc etc .

But not anything for the 308 .

In my experience, VV-130 and -133 are a little fast for the normal range of .308 bullets. I suggest that you try VV-135 and -140. -Ed

My experience in the .308 runs with Dan Willem's experience, using 26.0 to 28.0 grains of N-133 with a 190 to 210 grain bullet. I've been able to get good grouping with all three, N-130, N-133 and N-135.

The lesser load of N-133 meant less velocity possibly, shooting 30 grains of N-133 never gave good repeatable results. Alice shot well at the 2012 Nationals, finding her rifle has a preference for N-135 and the RCBS 30-180-SP in used linotype alloy, sized .310 for her Savage 12BVSS.
