Had a great casting session making some Minie' ball for the 1853 and 1861 rifled muskets. When I don't want to roll Enfield cartridges, these are fun to shoot. They gum up the works pretty fast but are still fun to shoot! That was a real fast 6 pounds of lead! The Lee mold works just fine!

The medium skirt thickness means these work best with less than a full power service load of 60 grains. I shoot these with 50 grains to save powder and to keep the skirts from mushrooming past the muzzle.

These measure out at .576"

With rifle in hand, I confidently go forth into the darkness.

A couple days ago I fired 30 rounds with the Lyman parker-hale enfield minie’ without wiping. I was using 55g fff. It shot to the sights too. That Lee mold of yours casts a bunch of fine bullets.

It really does cast well. That bunch of bullets, 67 I think it is, weighs 5.1 pounds! That’s a lot of lead.

With rifle in hand, I confidently go forth into the darkness.
