A CBA member is requesting loading data for an original Winchester 1876 in 45-75 with the RCBS 300 grain bullet.  Anybody have any or know where it is?

I only have the data from Page 601 of the "Handloader Manual of Cartridge Conversions" listing a 350gr bullet and 24.0gr of 4198 propellant for the 45/75 Winchester Cartridge. This load is specifically listed for the 1876 rifle. Some tweaking may be performed with QuickLoad if the member has that program.

Thanks Aaron, he got that load from Cartridges of the World, but that's all he's found.  I suggested using Trapdoor loads since the 45-70 is a slightly smaller case.

If you have access to Wolfe's "Load Data" Venturino did an article maybe 20 years ago that should be in there somewhere.

He didn't specify, I'm assuming smokeless. Black is pretty straight forward. Glenn

Using the .45-70 loading data and staying in the Trapdoor range would be my thought. Also the 1876 is the weaker toggle-link action, so don't get adventurous.

I've got a repica 1876 in .45-60 and loading data for it is available in the Lyman Cast Bullet manual, possibly the .45-75 is in there also.

Here's a good series of articles on the 76 Winchester and 45-75 in particular.

I have a repro in 50-95 I have done some RL7 loads in that cartridge, however I have settled on BP and really like Hodgdon Triple Seven.

My apologies. My brain was thinking duplex, but my hands typed black powder. However, those are pretty straight forward as well...
